PIVOINE
PIVOINE
PIVOINE is dedicated to the peony, the voluptuous-looking flower that spectacularly blooms in late spring. According to a popular tale, the flower was named after Paeon, the physician to the Greek gods who cured Pluto -thus angering his teacher Asclepius, the god of medicine. A jealous Asclepius threatened to kill Paeon, whom Zeus saved by turning him into a peony. Having been growing in temperate climates for thousands of years, peonies have been timelessly revered for their extraordinary beauty, refined aroma, and healing properties.
PIVOINE features a central peony accord (the flower doesn’t yield its essence, so its aroma needs to be recreated with the use of other raw materials), which is delicate yet persistent, redolent with fresh, rosy, and slightly sweet tones. Embellished by juicy apple, sensuous florals, and soft suede leather, PIVOINE is a remarkably gender-fluid interpretation of the eponymous flower.
